… Attends To Three Petitions
The Lagos State Physical Planning and Building Control Appeals Committee, which commenced sitting on Thursday at Ikeja, has attended to three petitions on various issues ranging from land use, encroachment and demolition.
Speaking during the first Virtual Petition hearing, the Chairman of the Appeals Committee, Tpl. Ayodele Adediran, stated that the Committee would critically look at all petitions to ensure that justice is served.
He assured Lagosians that the Committee would be non-partisan and objective in handling of cases, saying that is the only way to instill public confidence and further the realisation of the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda.
He said that the Committee had received some petitions from both members of the public and government functionaries on issues ranging from decisions on Development Applications and Plans, Layout of Schemes, Approval-in-Principle, Demolition, Conduct of Planning and Serving of Notices among others.
Adediran urged Lagosians to always forward their grievances to the group rather than take laws into their own hands, assuring that the Committee was open to receive more complaints from members of the public on infractions relating to the built environment.
Recall that the Committee was inaugurated by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu on 2nd of December 2019 to address infractions in the built environment.
