SECURITY: SANWO-OLU URGES RESIDENTS TO SUPPORT GOVERNMENT WITH RELEVANT INFORMATION

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has urged the Christians, as well as other residents in the State, to provide relevant information that will assist the government and security agencies in ensuring that the safety and security of citizens are not compromised.

Governor Sanwo-Olu made the call in his address at the 46th Annual Convention of The Apostolic Church, held recently at its headquarters in Alapere, Ketu, adding that the State Government would continue to improve the security situation across the Lagos metropolis.

He also enjoined all religious organisations to support the government with prayers for peace and harmony to continue to prevail in Lagos, imploring the congregation to be more vigilant to ensure that the State remains safe and secure for more development and progress across all strata.

Sanwo-Olu, represented at the event by his Special Adviser on Chieftaincy Matters, Prince Bayo Osiyemi, highlighted the developmental strides of his administration in several sectors, especially education, health and road construction, promising that the State Government would soon complete its mass transit rail transportation system from Okokomaiko to Marina and from Yaba to Agbado.

Appreciating the State government for the visible developmental projects in all sectors as well as its assistance to the Church, the Vice President and Territorial Chairman of the Apostolic Church, Dr. E.S. Awojide, urged Governor Sanwo-Olu to fulfil his promise to provide a pedestrian bridge in front of the church to avoid crossing the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Ikosi-Ketu.

Pastor Awojide assured the State government of its support, praying for its continued success in all areas.

Dignitaries in attendance at the event include the Chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Bishop Stephen Adegbite and the National President of the Apostolic Church, Nigeria, Pastor (Dr.) S.E. Igwe among others.
