PARASTATALS MONITORING OFFICE INTRODUCES “KNOW YOUR AGENCIES” ON LAGOS TRAFFIC RADIO
The Lagos State Parastatals Monitoring Office has introduced a radio programme on Lagos Traffic Radio, tagged: “Know Your Agencies”, to enlighten the general public about the services and activities of the various Agencies/Parastatals of the State Government.
Speaking on the maiden edition of the programme, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Parastatals Monitoring Office (PMO), Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo, said the programme was designed as a platform for Chief Executive Officers of Parastatals/Agencies to enlighten Lagos residents about the activities of their organisations.
Ayantayo pointed out that most Lagosians are unaware of the existence of important agencies specifically created by the State Government to cater for their various needs in every area of endeavour, as such the programme will educate many people about these agencies and how they can support and ameliorate or assist the generality of the people.
In his words: “Parastatals are arms of the government set up for essential social service delivery to citizens to enhance their wellbeing and welfare. They are critical to the day-to-day existence of residents. As such, it is pertinent to bring the agencies and their activities to the fore through the radio programme. This will ensure that more people are aware of their existence, the services they render and how to contact them when necessary”.
Also speaking on the Radio Show, the Permanent Secretary, Pharm. (Mrs.) Toyin Oke-Osanyintolu, stated that the objective of the programme is to enlighten and interact with the public about the services and activities of the Parastatals, enhance their visibility and obtain feedback from the public on the quality of services provided to the people.
According to her, all the Chief Executive Officers of the Parastatals/Agencies will feature on the “Know Your Agencies” every Friday between 10. 15 am to 11.00 am from Friday 17th June, 2022 on Lagos Traffic Radio 96.1FM.
