He urged the officers to justify the confidence reposed in them by demonstrating renewed commitment to effective policing and national security.

“The promotion is not an end but an opportunity to contribute more to the noble task of safeguarding lives and property.

The Commission remains committed to transparency, merit, and adherence to global best practices in all promotion processes,” he said.

Argungu further explained that the Commission maintains strict promotion standards, noting that officers who fail the examination are required to retake it, with retirement applicable after three unsuccessful attempts in accordance with Public Service Rules.

The PSC Chairman also commended members of the Commission’s Board, including Paul Adamu Galumje (Justice of the Supreme Court, rtd), Taiwo Lakanu (DIG rtd), and the Secretary to the Commission, Onyemuche Nnamani, for their support and contributions toward the successful completion of the promotion exercise.
