LASG DIVERTS TRAFFIC FOR ASPHALT LAYING ON RAIL LEVEL CROSSING AT IKEJA
The Lagos State Government has announced that there will be a diversion of traffic flow on the Public Works Road, Ikeja, for Rail Level Crossing asphalt laying from today, Thursday 21st April, till 6.00am on Friday, 22nd April, 2022.
A statement signed by the Commissioner for Transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladeinde disclosed that the asphalting of the level crossing on the Public Works Road, Ikeja was necessary to ease traffic flow across the rail track in the section.
He advised motorists coming from GRA to make use of Oba Akinjobi Way and link Airport Under Bridge to gain access to Agege Motor Road, while vehicles from Oshodi coming into the GRA, Ikeja, will be diverted to the Airport Bridge or Adegbola Level Crossing for travel to their desired destinations.
Oladeinde, therefore, implored road users to comply with the traffic directions provided by the traffic enforcement personnel as well as road signals put in place to minimise inconveniences during the rehabilitation works.
Appealing to residents of the State, especially motorists plying the affected corridor, to make use of the alternatives routes provided to ease traffic flow, the Commissioner said the palliative works are aimed at achieving a seamless multi-modal transport system being envisaged for a Greater Lagos.
