IMPROVED WATER SUPPLY: LAGOS WATER CORPORATION HOSTS WATER REGULATORY COMMISSION

The Managing Director/CEO, Lagos Water Corporation (LWC), Engr. Mukhtaar Tijani has held a meeting with the Executive Secretary of the Lagos State Water Regulatory Commission (LASWARCO), Mrs. Funke Adepoju towards an improved supply of potable water to residents of Lagos State.

Welcoming the LASWARCO visiting delegation led by Mrs. Adepoju to the LWC Headquarters in Ijora, Lagos, Engr. Tijani said the meeting was aimed at fostering a cordial relationship between the two agencies, with a shared goal of enhancing the lives of Lagosians through improved water supply.

He expressed the Management’s appreciation for the visit and the proposed partnership between LWC and LASWARCO, reiterating that such collaboration would revitalise the water industry in Lagos State. 

The CEO of LWC emphasised that a harmonious working relationship between both agencies would lead to better service delivery and the resolution of critical issues.

Acknowledging Mrs. Adepoju’s extensive experience in the water sector, Engr. Tijani sought her cooperation and partnership in achieving shared objectives of improved service delivery.

Responding, the Executive Secretary of LASWARCO, Mrs. Funke Adepoju stressed the significance of transparency and adherence to international best practices in ensuring effective water delivery across the state.

Addressing concerns about service interruptions caused by infrastructure challenges from road contractors, Mrs. Adepoju called for prompt action to restore orderliness. 

She also commended Engr. Tijani for his valuable contributions during the recent LUWASH activity report meeting, just as she acknowledged LWC’s positive direction in providing high-quality and sustainable water service to Lagos residents.

At the end of the meeting, both parties expressed their commitment to building trust and ensuring reliable water services for the people of Lagos. They also asserted that the joint efforts between the Lagos Water Corporation and Lagos Water Regulatory Commission hold the promise of a brighter future for water supply in the State.
