Known for her deep passion for the safety and security of the numerous good women of Edo State and Edolites at large, the Special Adviser on Women Mobilization to His Excellency Governor Monday Okpebholo, Hon. Lady Omorede Osifo has commended the selfless service of the state’s first citizen for protecting the lives and properties of indigenes, non-indigenes and expatriates residing and working in the State.
Lady Osifo affirmed that His Excellency Governor Monday Okpebholo is seriously making Edo State tough for unscrupulous elements perpetuating crimes and criminalities all over the ‘Heartbeat of the Nation’ . Lady Omorede Osifo noted categorically that the governor is determined to exterminate all forms of illegal and immoral activities aimed at breaching the laws of Edo land.
She added that in response to tackling the growing heinous crimes of kidnapping, banditry, armed robbery, gangsterism, cultism amongst others currently threatening the peaceful co- existence of Edolites, Governor Monday Okpebholo, has successfully deviced certain strategic and tactical approaches aimed at curbing these societal ills.
Lady Omorede Osifo, who served the state meritoriously both as Commissioner for Youths and Sports as well as Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism, opined that the caring Governor, who epitomizes good governance and people-oriented administrative doctrines, has severally, empowered and emboldened security agencies, including officers of the Nigerian Police Force, Edo State Command, the Nigerian Army and men of the Edo State Security Corps (ESSC) to be more proactive in discharging their duties to the people.
It could be recalled that this bold move yielded positive result recently as the fearless governor himself, Marshaled the arrest of kidnappers and cultists who invaded the Vegetable Market in Oredo area of the state.
His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo, on receiving an urgent security report, swiftly called on the state’s Commissioner of Police, CP Monday Agbonika who responded immediately by ordering his men to fish out the criminals and in a jiffy, some of the culprits were promptly arrested and paraded at the state’s police command headquarters, Benin City.
Governor Monday Okpebholo then called on residents of Edo State to be rest assured that his administration is wholeheartedly committed to protecting their lives and properties, giving them absolute assurance to sleep with their two eyes closed. The Governor further cautioned criminals not to take his simplicity for granted and that he will personally sign criminals death warrants accordingly.
He also praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his selfless efforts in tackling headlong, the issue of insecurity in Nigeria, adding that the President is not relenting in ensuring that the country is safe in order to attract foreign investments.
Hon. Lady Omorede Osifo agrees with the Governor’s statement that Edo State is not a home for unwanted men of the underworld and they, criminals will never find peace in the state. She concluded that indeed, the good people of Edo State are blessed with such a brave and protective leader like His Excellency Senator Monday Okpebholo.
