FCID ANNEX, LAGOS COMMEMORATES CUSTOMER SERVICE WEEK 2026, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO EXCELLENCE IN POLICING | Blissful Affairs Online

The Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Alagbon, Lagos, today joined the Inspector-General of Police and other institutions across the country in commemorating the 2026 Customer Service Week, themed “Going the Extra Mile.”

The celebration provided an opportunity for the FCID Annex to reaffirm its commitment to delivering professional, responsive, people-centred and excellence-driven policing services to members of the public.

Speaking on the occasion, the Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of FCID Annex, Alagbon, Lagos, AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom psc fdc mspsp Fcai MNIM, noted that the theme, “Going the Extra Mile,” aligns with the vision and strategic policing priorities of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, particularly his commitment to building a professional, accountable, service-driven and people-centred Nigeria Police Force.

AIG Akpanudom stated that, for the FCID Annex, going the extra mile means recognising that policing goes beyond law enforcement. It also entails serving members of the public with integrity, empathy, fairness and professionalism, while respecting their rights and dignity.

As part of activities marking the celebration, the FCID Annex distributed Customer Service Week awareness books and branded stickers to members of the public as part of efforts to promote a culture of excellent service, professionalism and positive Police-public relations.

The initiative was designed to serve as a constant reminder that every interaction between the Police and members of the public presents an opportunity to build confidence, strengthen trust and enhance the image of the Nigeria Police Force.

The AIG further urged officers, men and women of the FCID Annex to listen attentively, communicate respectfully and consistently demonstrate professionalism in the discharge of their duties.

He also described members of the public as partners in policing, noting that their cooperation, timely and credible information, constructive feedback and support remain essential to effective crime prevention, investigation and public safety.

He emphasised that the Customer Service Week theme should transcend the celebration and become an integral part of the everyday culture of policing and public service.

He reiterated the commitment of the FCID Annex to strengthening public trust through quality service delivery, transparency, accountability, responsiveness and professionalism.

The AIG, on behalf of the leadership and personnel of the FCID Annex, Alagbon, Lagos, wished Nigerians a successful Customer Service Week 2026, while calling for a stronger Police-community partnership towards building a safer, more responsive and people-centred society.

The distribution of the awareness materials was met with positive reactions from members of the public, who expressed appreciation for the initiative and described it as a unique and commendable approach to strengthening Police-public relations. Some members of the public noted that the gesture was encouraging and demonstrated a willingness by the Police to engage with citizens beyond traditional law-enforcement responsibilities.

The positive feedback further underscored the importance of initiatives that promote direct engagement, open communication and mutual understanding between the Police and the communities they serve, thereby contributing to greater public confidence and trust in the Nigeria Police Force.
