The last may not have been heard over the Ozubulu killings of Anambra State Nigeria as another popular son of the soil, Emeka Nzelu has been killed in South Africa while another yet to be identified dreadlocks wearing dude is in the throes of death as you read.
Before he finally met his waterloo, the deceased, Emeka Nzelu who was one of the complainants in the murder case, Enquirermag gathered had alleged threat to his life and other prominent Ozubulu sons by suspected South Africa based drug Lords who had vowed to wipe them (Ozubulu sons abroad) all out, should they refused to pay a
$1m (One million US dollars) ransome over what they termed as betrayer over a business gone sour deals.
Following the St. Philip’s Catholic Church, Ozubulu killings which went viral in August last year, 2018 during an early morning service, four suspects have been arraigned at a high court sitting in Anambra State.
During one of the court trials, a witness from Johannesburg, South Africa, one Chukwuemeka Obi, had testified that the suspected killers had threatened to kill his father in Ozubulu, attack four families in Ozubulu; kill his younger brother living in Brazil and himself living in South Africa.
Led in evidence by his lawyer, Mr. Jay Jay Ezeuko, SAN, Obi said: “They are demanding one million dollars from us or they will wipe out all of us. We have also been receiving strange phone calls from these people.
He also alleged that one of the suspects standing trial in the Ozubulu killings, Chinedu Akpunonu working with two persons he called Gozila and Afam, who are in jail in South African prison is terrorizing Ozubulu sons at home and abroad. And in what looked like a promise fulfilled, Emeka Nzelu was gun down cold blooded in South Africa yesterday.
