AIG FCID Annex Lagos Receives Delegation from NIPR Lagos State Chapter | Blissful Affairs Online

 

 

The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) Annex, Lagos, AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom psc fdc mspsp MNIM, on Thursday, 16 July 2026, received a delegation from the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Lagos State Chapter, led by its Chairman, Dr. Samuel Ayetutu, at the FCID Annex Headquarters, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos.

The delegation comprised the Director-General of Media, Mansir A. Wakili, Ibrahim Adamu, Abdul Aziz Ibrahim, AbdulRahman Dalhatu, and other members of the Institute.

Speaking during the visit, Dr. Ayetutu expressed appreciation to the AIG and his Leadership Team for the warm reception. He stated that the visit was to formally appreciate the Assistant Inspector-General of Police for his participation in the recently concluded PR Fest 2026 Grand Finale, where he represented the Inspector-General of Police who was the keynote speaker.

According to the NIPR Chairman, the programme was strategic and impactful in advancing the public relations profession, adding that the AIG’s insightful presentation greatly enriched the event and contributed significantly to its success.

Dr. Ayetutu further acknowledged the significant role the Nigeria Police Force continues to play in promoting effective communication and strengthening public trust through professional public relations practice. He emphasized that the Institute remains committed to deepening collaboration with security agencies, particularly the FCID Annex Lagos, in enhancing strategic communication, crime prevention, and public engagement.

He also noted that the Institute is committed to strengthening the public relations profession by bringing practitioners together under one professional body. He reaffirmed the Institute’s resolve to sustain and expand its collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, particularly Police Public Relations practitioners, while expressing optimism that the existing partnership would continue to flourish for the benefit of both institutions and the sgeneral public.

In his response, AIG Simeon U. Akpanudom welcomed the delegation and expressed gratitude to the NIPR Lagos State Chapter for the courtesies. He noted that his participation at PR Fest 2026 was on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, who is also distinguished member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. He stressed that the recognition and appreciation go to the Inspector-General of Police and the Nigeria Police Force.

The AIG recalled his early exposure to public relations as a young police officer and underscored the importance of professionalism, continuous training, discipline, and ethical conduct in the practice of public relations. He emphasized that these values should not only be taught but consistently demonstrated by practitioners in order to strengthen the credibility of the profession and enhance public confidence.

As a mark of appreciation, the NIPR Lagos State Chapter presented a commemorative plaque to the AIG in recognition of his support, commitment, and invaluable contribution to the success of PR Fest 2026.

The visit concluded with the presentation of the plaque of appreciation for the IGP, and a group photograph to commemorate the occasion.
