The Spiritual father/Chairman, Cherubim & Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, Most Rev. Samuel Abidoye has said that Nigeria would be affected if Lagos is on ‘fire’

Abidoye said this in reaction to the alleged face-off between the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Bola Tinubu and Governor Ambode.

Over 50 council chairmen loyal to Tinubu, Ambode’s estranged godfather, had reportedly met and pledged their support for Jide Sanyaolu Sanwonolu, who is believed to be Tinubu’s preferred choice.

While speaking on Wednesday on the sidelines of the Church’s summit in Kwara State, Abidoye represented by the International Organising Committee chairman of the church, Pastor Nathaniel Ayakanmi urged Tinubu and Ambode to avoid any action that will cause crisis in Lagos.

According to him ” Lagos must continue to have peace. If there is a fire in Lagos, it will affect every part of Nigeria.”

He warned against imposition by leaders, adding that the people should be allowed to elect their leaders.

He said, “ Lagos must continue to have peace, as the state is strategic to Nigeria.
“Tinubu should continue to be a stabiliser in Lagos politics and act according to God’s dictates for the benefit of the people.

“Nobody should impose leaders on anybody no matter how powerful you are. You should not forget this fact that you are here today because God allowed you to be there.

“They should not put fire in Lagos. Lagos is the centre of Nigeria. Although Abuja is the headquarters, Lagos is the centre and if there is a fire in Lagos, it will affect every part of Nigeria.”

The C&S leader also admonished President Muhammadu Buhari and the presidential aspirants of the Peoples Democratic Party not to overheat the polity.

Pa Abidoye advised them to shun violence and a do-or-die approach to their ambition.

“Nigerian leaders should avoid self-serving interest and deliver dividends of democracy to Nigerians,” he added.
