PSSDC EXPRESSES READINESS FOR STRATEGIC INSTITUTIONAL COLLABORATIONS, PARTNERSHIPS

The Director-General, Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), Dr. Senukon Olufunmi Ajose-Harrison, has expressed the Centre’s readiness to collaborate and partner with strategic and relevant professional institutions both locally and internationally to design and deliver learning as well as development interventions in the Public Service.

Ajose-Harrison, who stated this while welcoming the Management of the International Professional Managers Association (IPMA-UK), who were on a courtesy visit to the Centre at Magodo, explained that in the global disruption brought about by the massive technological and socio-cultural changes, the greatest good any institution can do to adequately build capacity is to leverage the experience and expertise of reputable institutions through collaborations and partnerships.

While acknowledging the decade-old relationships between the PSSDC and IPMA-UK, Ajose-Harrison stated that through its experiential mode of delivering learning interventions, IPMA-UK had played critical roles in connecting the dots between theory and practice across cultures globally, adding that the Centre was sure that a relationship between the two institutions would improve professional-managerial practices in the Public Service.

He added that through the relationship, PSSDC would derive the benefit of leveraging IPMA-UK’s wide and expansive network to become a study Centre for the professional membership and examinations of the Association, thereby further strengthening the capacity of the Centre’s faculty to operate locally and globally.

Earlier, the leader of delegation and Head of IPMA-UK’s Africa Regional Office, Professor Oluwafeyifunmi Taiwo Feyi-Sobanjo, expressed delight that the visit was another opportunity for the two institutions to forge a win-win relationship in their mutual desire to expand the scope and depth of global managerial practices.

Congratulating the Centre’s Management on the institution’s contributions to human capital development in the Lagos State Public Service, Feyi-Sobanjo expressed conviction that collaboration and partnerships among organisations play critical roles in unleashing the potential for productivity and performance.

He stated that in view of the dynamic nature of knowledge, organisations must continually seek opportunities to leverage the strength of one another for mutual benefits, noting that the difference between organisational success and failure is laziness.

The leader of the delegation averred that IPMA-UK was fully prepared to support PSSDC as collaborators to build and enhance the Centre’s capability, through IPMA’s programmes, its array of global resources and network .

IPMA-UK is an International Examining, Licensing and Regulatory Professional body formed for the purpose of providing practising managers the opportunity to improve managerial performance and effectiveness in all areas of business, industry and public administration.
