*MUYIWA TIMOTHY OLABINTAN: Declaration of Intention To Contest the 2023 House of Representatives (Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency 1) Election Under APC
The good people of Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency 1,
History is replete with nations and individuals that had faced trying times to the extent of despair. However, it is in the nature of mankind to find solutions to myriads of problems and many challenges confronting its existence. Help usually comes in the emergence of individual who is prepared and ready to confront the problems head-on.
This constituency (Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency 1) is in dire need of a worthy representative that can frontally and squarely confront the challenges bedevilling our community.
It is so sad that the constituency suffers anonymous representation in the Lower Chambers of the National Assembly.
Our expectation in the area of meaningful empowerment like it is being enjoyed in other constituencies in and around Lagos state has become a mirage and abysmal.
The issue of youth restiveness remains unattended to, while other representatives are fond of posing with photographs of their constituents that have been gainfully employed by various government departments, military and para- military formations, but alas none has happened to Oshodi/Isolo federal constituency 1.
Still on youth unemployment, there has been failure to stimulate programmes that could engender skills acquisition, which will definitely be a thing of the past, anyway.
It is also disheartening that the expected initiative to actualize Talent hunt for our youth has been carelessly and ignorantly jettisoned.
The catalogue of misrepresentation in our constituency is legion. Rather than weep over the situation we found ourselves in, I have decided to offer myself once again for the onerous task of restoring the loss value and dignity of our community and particularly to address the chronic and painful realisation of being represented in absentia and anonymously.
It is in the light of this, that I offer competence, dignity, sincerity of purpose and accessibility in the delivery of the office of a member of the House of Representatives of Oshodi/Isolo Federal Constituency 1.
The time has indeed come to have and enjoy visible, accessible, sensitive and tangible dividends of democracy with special preference for our youth, women, elders, widows and other vulnerable in our community.
