    One of Nigeria’s longest and most innovative banks, Wema Bank, has devised another avenue of alleviating the poverty level of Nigerian women, most especially the hardworking and ever restless female entrepreneurs.

    According to the bank at a recent enligtenment event held in Lagos, Wema bank affirmed that SARA is a vibrant community which is designed to empower women in participating, wholly in growth opportunities available at the bank.

    The target of this scheme is geared towards ensuring that women, cutting across the socio-economic sector of the country deserve as many opportunities as possible to be financially Independence and be part and parcel of the country’s economy growth.

    Wema bank is not unaware of the financial hurdles business women in Nigeria face everyday, hence the need for the creation of the scheme like SARA.

    The motive of SARA could be attached to what WEMA Bank emphasised on, like self-on boarding via ALAT on the mobile or on web, access to all existing loan packages for businesses on consecionary rates, access to specialized funding from functional institutions, access to free business advisory and SME Support, Capacity building and training events, discounts and deals in select partner locations.

    According to Sade Odunaiya, a certified business coach “Wema Bank’s coming up with SARA is a unique because it’s for all woman that wants to grow and if we should go by the saying that “when you train a woman, you train a nation, but when you train a man, you train an individual” and the issue in the country is that we need more women in business to take the nation to the promised land adding that all should not be left in the hands of the men because women want to be part of the socio-economic transformation going on in Nigeria.

    She urged the women at SARA event to be rest assured that SARA from WEMA will definitely turn the lives of Nigerian women for the better.

    Additionally, the regional manager, Lagos Mainland Wema Bank Plc , Aramide Awosanya enlightened women in the attendance on how beneficial SARA is and the reason why all business women including Petty traders shuold be part of the scheme.

    Also, Abimbola Agbejule Head Sustainability of the bank urged women to be pro-active partakers of the Wema Bank’s SARA scheme stressing that it will go a long way in alleviating their poverty levels and put smiles on their faces.

    Present at the SARA event organised by Wema Bank are women from all sectors, these includes carreer women, business women and entrepreneurs.

    One of the entrepreneurs at the SARA event Monalisa Abimbola Azeh encouraged women to embrace SARA narrating how she conveniently manage her shoe cubbling business from the scratch .

    She praised Wema Bank for coming up with a brilliant idea such as SARA while urging the bank to do more by ensuring Nigerian women entrepreneurs harvest the benefits of SARA.
