Belgium captain, Eden Hazard, has identified Chelsea star, Mateo Kovacic, as the player that helped him get his Real Madrid shirt.
He also revealed that Real Madrid midfielder, Luka Modric, refused to give him his Los Blancos’ number 10 shirt after he asked the Croatian international for it.
Hazard said he spoke to Modric through the assistance of Kovacic, who is on loan at Chelsea from Real Madrid.
The 28-year-old stated this on Thursday after he was unveiled as a Real Madrid player at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium.
The forward completed his £88.5million move to Zinedine Zidane’s side from Chelsea a few days ago.
Modric is the current owner of the number 10 shirt in the Real Madrid dressing room, and despite asking Kovacic for help, Hazard will have to wear a different number for now.
“I have been able to talk to Modric through Kovacic,” Hazard was quoted by Football London as saying.
“I was joking when I asked him to lend me the number 10.
“He said no, so I’ll have to find another number. But right now number not important for me, just to play with this badge.”
