Primate Ayodele’s prophecies: Why Journalists must keep to ethics of their profession | Blissful Affairs Online
By Benjamin Otika
For those that would say who is this man, I want to start by saying that I am one of Primate Ayodele’s fans, and there is no apologies.
I have been following this rare gem for over 30 years now and he has not given me reason to doubt him.
Primate Ayodele has done what no other prophet has done in terms of not just prophecies but also in philanthropy.
However, my attention was drawn to Sunday Leadership, where Primate Ayodele’s prophecy was regrettably, unwittingly and wrongly mentioned, linked and misinterpreted.
The publication was in connection to what Ex-Spokesman to the Police, DC Adejobi, was quoted as saying about prophecies, though Adejobi has not said anything and did not mention Ayodele’s name, it is the Journalist who misquoted Adejobi.
Of course, the fact is clear, Ayodele did not say Super Eagles will not shine at the ongoing African Cup of Nations, Ayodele did not talk anything about Super Eagles, and meanwhile Ayodele always go straight to the point.
If you don’t know, Ayodele is a very prominent person in Super Eagles and Ayodele’s prophecies determined what happens to Super Eagles, if you don’t know.
However let’s talk about this cheap blackmailing of Ayodele about his Prophecy on AFCON.
What did he say, Primate Ayodele said that Nigeria will survive the elimination stage, and that was all. And he talked about few players, and all he said have come to pass.
In the case of Muyiwa Adejobi, Primate Ayodele never prophesied against the Super Eagles; rather, he was supportive of the team when he said the Super Eagles can get to the final of the tournament, so it’s mysterious that a credible platform like Leadership Newspaper would quote the former Force PRO out of context.
Sincerely, Journalists need to be very careful when writing these things that are not real. If your source didn’t say a thing, adding your own interpretation just shows how mischievous you can be. This needs to stop totally.
Of course, the man of God, evidently, has no time to respond to the blackmails, misinterpretations and misconceptions, however, I want to warn that Primate Ayodele’s humility must not be taken for granted.
Those who think they can write based on interpretation of people’s minds, without getting the clearer picture or at least put call across to get the fact, a day of reckoning awaits them.
One more information, Primate Ayodele is one person whose telephone is on 24/7. He is ready to respond to your calls or reply to your SMS, so I believe that a sincere Journalist who is not given to mischief would ordinarily explore and leverage on this opportunity and make his clarifications rather than make himself object of ridicule.
