As a philanthropist, Mr. Okpe is the founder and president of the Tony Okpe Foundation, an organization dedicated to the rehabilitation and reintegration of ex-convicts. Through prison outreach, counseling, and skill acquisition programs in areas such as carpentry, tailoring, welding, bricklaying, farming, block moulding and painting, he empowers former inmates to rebuild their lives through mentoring and providing them with tools and start up funds for trained beneficiaries. The foundation also organizes free feeding programs, health screenings, and provides participants with medical advise and prescribes medication from medical donor and sponsor partners.
Tony Okpe Foundation also organize free health screening exercise for security personnel towards a better healthy condition for those security personnel protecting and preventing crime and making sure crime is nip in the bud.
His foundation was born from his extensive interactions with ex-convicts and his desire to understand—and help prevent—the cycle of reoffending. By working closely with clerics, facilitators, and volunteers, he has created a platform that gives hope and second chances to those often forgotten by society.
Mr. Okpe holds a degree in Marketing, is an associate member of the Canadian Institute of Marketing, and a Fellow of the Institute of Sales Professionals. He also earned a certificate in Journalism from the Journalism Clinic and has participated in numerous professional media trainings.
