Obidient Movement Seeks To Harness Collective Power For New Nigeria As Dr Yunusa Calls for Unity|Blissful Affairs Online
The Obidient Movement has announced its intention to harness its collective power to drive its mission of building a New Nigeria. According to Dr. Yunusa Tanko, Interim National Coordinator of the movement, “Together we are embarking on a path to build a movement that speaks with one voice, is formidable, and operates in a coordinated manner at all levels in our country —from the federal to the state and local governments.”
The movement, which emerged after the 2023 elections, has been working towards building a united front to drive its mission. Dr. Tanko stated, “This is the beginning of a new era for us, a time to strengthen our movement with a singular vision: to birth a New Nigeria that works for everyone.”
The movement has acknowledged the need to manage its diversity effectively, with Dr. Tanko saying, “We recognize that personal agendas and differences have sometimes led to division. Moving forward, we will proactively design frameworks and systems that allow our diversity to remain our strength.”
In a bid to move forward, the movement has apologized for grievances and feelings of disenfranchisement that emerged within its ranks. “We sincerely apologize for these grievances and recognize that they are real and valid,” Dr. Tanko said.
The movement is now calling for unity and a shared vision, with Dr. Tanko emphasizing, “Despite our differences, we believe that we can work together if we are united by a common purpose and vision. This requires a clear set of rules of engagement, underpinned by respect, tolerance, and understanding, and bound by the principles of the 5 Cs: Character, Competence, Capacity, Consistency, and Compassion.”
As part of its efforts to harness collective power, the movement has started consultations to finalize its operational structure and encouraged everyone to participate actively in the process.
Dr. Tanko concluded by saying, “Let us move forward together with renewed vigor and a shared purpose.”
