TO SERVE AS ROYAL FATHER OF THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST KILLING OF SECURITY PERSONNEL IN LAGOS | Blissful Affairs Online

The Societal Concerns Organization has announced His Royal Majesty, Oba Moroof Oyekunle Atanda Amodu Tijani Amore III, as the Royal Father of the Campaign Against Killing of Security Personnel, scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 16 December 2025, in Lagos State.

The high-level advocacy event, which will feature a Press Conference and Inter-Agency Combat Sports Demonstration, is part of a sustained civic engagement initiative aimed at drawing national attention to the rising threats faced by Nigeria’s security personnel and fostering collective responsibility for their protection.

The presence of His Royal Majesty underscores the importance of traditional institutions in promoting peace, unity, and national security. As a respected custodian of culture and moral authority, Oba Amore III’s royal endorsement lends gravitas to the campaign and reinforces the call for respect, protection, and cooperation with security agencies across communities.

The campaign is expected to host a distinguished gathering of security chiefs, policymakers, civil society leaders, youth groups, and strategic stakeholders. Confirmed dignitaries include senior officers from the Nigeria Police Force, Armed Forces, paramilitary agencies, security policy experts, and representatives of key government institutions.

According to the President of Societal Concerns Organization and Convener of the campaign, Oluwayomi Oluwapelumi, the initiative is driven by the urgent need to address the alarming incidents of violence against security personnel, which pose serious risks to national stability and public safety.

“Security personnel are the backbone of our nation’s peace and sovereignty. When they are attacked, the entire society is endangered. This campaign is a call to conscience—for citizens, leaders, and institutions—to protect those who protect us,” she stated.

The inter-agency combat sports demonstration is designed as a symbolic and practical engagement to promote unity, physical preparedness, and collaboration among security agencies, while also serving as a public advocacy tool to engage youths and communities positively.

Societal Concerns Organization reiterated its commitment to advancing peace-building, security advocacy, and civic responsibility through strategic partnerships with government agencies, traditional institutions, and the media.

The organization called on the public, community leaders, youth groups, and stakeholders to support the campaign and actively participate in promoting a culture that values and safeguards Nigeria’s security personnel.
