The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has promoted its Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), in recognition of his exceptional service, professionalism, and commitment to effective policing and public communication.
The promotion, which was recommended by the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, reflects the Force leadership’s confidence in Hundeyin’s capacity, integrity, and outstanding performance in strategic communication and public engagement.
ACP Hundeyin was appointed Force Public Relations Officer in 2025 as a Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), taking over from DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi. A seasoned police administrator and communicator, Hundeyin holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Language from Lagos State University (LASU) and a Master’s degree in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan.
His career trajectory includes a long stint in police public relations and administration, where he served under former Force Public Relations Officer and Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Frank Mba. He also served at Zone 2 Command before his posting to the Force Headquarters in Abuja. After a brief period at the headquarters, he was redeployed to Lagos, where he served as the Spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command.
Owing to his proactiveness, professionalism, and consistent excellence in the line of duty, Hundeyin was subsequently appointed Force Public Relations Officer by the Inspector-General of Police in 2025, a position he has held with distinction to date.
Described by colleagues as a disciplined and distinguished officer, ACP Hundeyin is widely respected for his leadership abilities, administrative competence, and dedication to service delivery. His elevation to the rank of Assistant Commissioner of Police is widely seen as a testament to hard work, consistency, and the Nigeria Police Force’s commitment to career progression and merit-based advancement.
