
IGP Disu Redeploys CP Fatai Tijani to Lagos, Elevates AIG Jimoh to Zone 2 Command | Blissful Affairs Online

The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, has approved the immediate redeployment of Commissioner of Police, CP Fatai Tijani, as the new Commissioner of Police in charge of Lagos State Command.
This follows the recent promotion and decoration of CP Olorundare Moshood Jimoh to the rank of Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG).
CP Fatai Tijani brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished service record to his new role. Over the years, he has held several strategic positions, including Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC Operations), Lagos State Command; Area Commander, Area C Command, Lagos; and Commissioner of Police, Eastern Port Command, Rivers State.
His previous leadership as Commander of MOPOL 17 in Akure, Ondo State, further underscores his operational competence and tactical expertise.
With a strong background spanning administration, tactical operations, and diplomatic assignments, CP Tijani is well-positioned to strengthen policing strategies in Lagos State. His appointment is expected to enhance security architecture, improve operational efficiency, deepen community engagement, and foster stronger inter-agency collaboration.
He is also tasked with reinforcing discipline and professionalism across the command.
In his directive, IGP Disu charged senior police officers to lead by example, uphold the rule of law, and maintain a zero-tolerance stance against indiscipline, corruption, and dereliction of duty.
He emphasized the need for proactive and intelligence-driven policing to ensure the safety of lives and property nationwide.
Meanwhile, AIG Olorundare Moshood Jimoh has been posted to head Zone 2 Command, which comprises Lagos and Ogun States. His elevation reflects the continued commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to merit-based promotions and strategic leadership deployment.
