A cross section of Nigerians have reacted to the latest face-off between All Progressives Congress, APC, National Leader, Bola Tinubu and the outgoing Senate President, Bukola Saraki.

Tinubu had accused Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara of padding pervious budgets.

In a statement, Tinubu had declared that he has no secret motive in supporting Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabiamila to be the next Senate President and House Speaker, respectively.

However, Saraki warned the APC National Leader to stop treating the legislators like hapless pupils receiving orders from a cane-wielding headmaster.

Saraki also alleged that the political schemes and manipulations by Tinubu despite his recent denials were for his 2023 presidential ambition.

Reacting to the face-off, some Nigerians, who took to their Twitter handles, expressed their views over the war of words between the two politicians.

    Some reactions below.

@adeyanjudeji: “Just read Saraki’s response to Tinubu. Saraki was practically calling Asiwaju an illiterate who knows nothing but his selfish ambition. He says the only reason why Tinubu hates him is because he stopped him from becoming Buhari’s VP in 2015.

“Says the 8th NASS passed 228 Bills.”

    @deeoneayekooto: “On PMB 2019
“Tinubu is anti-South”-Afenifere, Ohaneze On NASS Leadership 2019
    “Tinubu is Anti-North”-Arewa Youth Forum
    “Tinubu is Anti-SE”-Ohaneze
“Tinubu is pursuing Anti-SW Cause”-Afenifere; that is why he is JAGABAN…..We curb him in the morning, he re-enacts in the evening…”

@ariyoaristotle: “Anytime Tinubu is losing national reckoning he turns to attacking Saraki to distract us.

“Did Saraki stop Buhari from attending Tinubu’s birthday after relocating his “ditched” colloquium to Abuja?

“He should apply wisdom. Gbaja will not get it, you’ve been used and dumped, sir.”

@TheSarakist: “Oloye is not Tinubu’s mate, Oloye has surpassed Tinubu in politics, Tinubu is National Leader of the APC, Oloye is the National Leader of the PDP.

“Tinubu was Senator, Oloye is Senate President. He should leave Tinubu where Tinubu dragged himself to, the dustbin of history.”

@earlobinna: “I don’t know what Tinubu wants but I think he should shut his mouth and shit down somewhere else.”

@toyinsinoki: “Crap talk…Everyone made decisions based on their interests and preferences you made yours and there can and must not be any problem with that! A lot of people in the SW look to Tinubu for leadership and follow his lead but quite a lot made decisions on global issues and i dare.”

@duruchibuzor: “Tinubu after reading Saraki’s reply will five his media aide for pushing him into embarrassing his age.”

@ade_Murayn: “Tinubu don suffer sha. Any APC member that wants to work against APC always use “Tinubu bla bla bla” as an excuse. They’re mad at PMB but don’t have the balls to call him out on some party decisions. They’ll rather hurl insults at Asiwaju.”

@blomatic: “That’s the kind of buffer support every president or Governor should have; it saves distraction from letter writers. GEJ’s admin lacked that character, he chose Clark over Obasanjo & the game changed. Edwin Clark had no nationalistic view of issues except the “the Ijaw Nation”.

@dipospeak: “let them continue, Nigeria as at the present needs a president like Tinubu after PMB, and we will support him wholeheartedly like we did for PMB in his 2 terms. who doesn’t like growth? Except the selfish few who isn’t seeing “flowing money” anymore. Jeunsoke Baba isale.”
