
Gtco’s 15th autism conference: a milestone of reaffirmation and acceptance of responsibility | Blissful Affairs Online
One of Africa’s biggest financial institutions, Gtco on Tuesday and Wednesday the 15th and 16th of July, is 2025 organized an awareness programme on the advancement of autism inclusion. GT Bank, known for its extreme social responsibility that has impacted greatly on the African continent.
The event, held at the prestigious Muson Centre in Onikan, Lagos State was elaborated by the Group Chief Executive Officer of the bank, Mr. Segun Agbeje who delivered a sterling message that connects vigorously with the theme.
Agbaje talked about the revolution of Gtco’s ideology in formulating the idea of solving autism issues for the last 15 years and the company’s inclusion in its extermination.
According to Agbaje, the Orange Ribbon Initiative began in 2009 as the bank’s commitment to advocate for children with neurodevelopmental disorders and to support the families and caregivers who nurture them. Today, what started as a simple buy focused effort has grown to shape how Gtco advocate.
Mr. Agbaje in his statement also promised that GT Bank will keep having a simple buy yet crucial mission to speak up for those whose voices are often unheard on this issue of autism. He added that the bank has provided over 5000 children with access to one-on-one consultations with leading medical professionals and have provided professional training for over 15,000 people on how to keep growing, learning and advocating for a society that embraces and empowers people living with autism.
Aside Mr. Segun Agbaje, other speakers at the 15th Autism Conference include Lanre Duyile, a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and Adjunct Professor from Edicot College, Beverly MA, USA who spoke on “Same diagnosis, different realities: the case for individualistic approach to support, Camiella Hay who delved on The Spectrum of Autism, parent training, early intervention, basic behavior research. Others are Oyeyemi Adako, Afeez Abdulradak, Solape Azazi, Tomi Agboola-Odeleye and Georgiana Koyama who almost spoke on diverse topics that are vital to the conference.
Children loving with autism are in need of the support of people and this is why GT Bank came out fully to assist with a commitment to advocate for them. The Orange Ribbon Initiative has gone so wide in making the project successful.
