Dignitaries Grace Grand Unveiling of The Compatriots Newspaper in Lagos | Blissful Affairs Online

It was a remarkable gathering of distinguished personalities, media professionals, and stakeholders in the communication industry as The Compatriots Newspaper was officially unveiled today at the NERDC Conference Center, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.

The well-attended event attracted several prominent dignitaries including CP Saadat Ismail, in charge of Administration, FCID Annex Lagos; Patrick Agbaza, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Pacino Engineering & Construction Company Limited; and Hon. Vinod Obasa, regarded as the youngest Local Government Chairman in Nigeria.

Also present were Ambassador Bose Joseph, activist and politician; Barrister Morufu Ajani Animashaun, Legal Officer at the FCID; as well as representatives of Dr. Daniel Olukoya, the General Overseer of Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries.

The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Lagos State Chapter, was strongly represented at the event. The delegation was led by the Acting Chairman, High Chief Funmilayo Ikubuwaye Mary Edward, alongside the Guild’s Public Relations Officer, Ambassador Cornell Udofia, who arrived with several members and executives of the guild.

Other AGN officials and members present included Emmanuel Onyika (popularly known as MC Senator), Director of Guild Services; Prince Tunde Shado, Financial Secretary; High Chief Oby Express, Senior Special Assistant to the National President of AGN; Alhaji Abubakar Yakubu Sanusi; and Nollywood actress Debora Salami, among many other members of the creative industry who came to support the unveiling.

The event also witnessed the presence of numerous journalists, publishers, and media colleagues from various organizations, further highlighting the importance of the occasion within Nigeria’s media landscape.

Speaking during the ceremony, the publisher of The Compatriots Newspaper, Mr. Joshua Uloko—who is also the publisher of City Pride and The Pride Magazine—expressed deep appreciation to the dignitaries, stakeholders, and media practitioners who honored the invitation.

Mr. Uloko explained that the vision behind The Compatriots Newspaper is to promote responsible journalism, patriotism, and national development through credible and impactful reporting.

According to him, the publication will focus on objective news reporting, constructive societal engagement, and stories that inspire unity, progress, and accountability across Nigeria.

Guests at the event commended the initiative and encouraged the publisher and his editorial team to maintain professionalism, integrity, and truth in their reportage, noting that the media remains a powerful tool in shaping public opinion and strengthening democratic values.

The successful unveiling marks the beginning of what many attendees described as a promising journey for The Compatriots Newspaper as it joins Nigeria’s vibrant and dynamic media industry with a commitment to informing, educating, and inspiring the public.

Blissful Affairs Magazine, which was also present at the event, commended the initiative and described the unveiling of The Compatriots Newspaper as a significant step toward strengthening responsible journalism and media development in Nigeria.

The magazine further noted that platforms such as The Compatriots play an important role in promoting national unity, credible information dissemination, and constructive engagement on issues affecting society.
