*CP DANTAWAYE VISITS PRESIDING JUDGE, FEDERAL HIGH COURT, LOKOJA JUDICIAL DIVISION, HON. JUSTICE ISAH DASHEN, PAYS CONDOLENCE ON THE PASSING OF HON. JUSTICE D.D. ABUTU (RTD), FORMER CHIEF JUDGE OF THE FEDERAL HIGH COURT, ABUJA, AND SEEKS STRONGER SYNERGY FOR SMOOTH ADMINISTRATION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE ACT IN KOGI*

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Command, CP Miller G. Dantawaye, psc, on Tuesday, paid a visit to the Presiding Judge, Federal High Court, Lokoja Judicial Division, Hon. Justice Isah Dashen paid condolence over the passing of Hon. Justice D.D. Abutu (Rtd), former Chief Judge of the Federal High Court, Abuja.

The visit aimed at promoting efficient management of criminal Justice institutions, speedy trials and protection of the rights of suspects, defendants and victims. He further emphasised on the importance of synergy between the law enforcement and judiciary in upholding the rule of law. Stressing that for justice to thrive Police and judiciary must walk hand-in-hand. He added that the visit reaffirmed the Command’s unwavering commitment to collaboration and professionalism in collective pursuit of justice and order in Kogi State.

In his response, Hon. Justice Isah Dashen was delighted with the visit, describing it as timely and thoughtful. He expressed the court’s readiness to continue working harmoniously with the police in discharging their constitutional responsibilities. He assured that Federal High Court, Lokoja Judicial Division will sustain the established relationships with the Police to ensure smooth and speedy administration of justice system in Kogi State. He equally commended the CP for the good work the Command is doing in ensuring adequate security of lives and property in the State.

In another department, the CP engaged with other Lawyers and Students Lawyers in the Court room to foster stronger relationship between the Police and the Bar. The engagement was commended as first of its kind in the State.

The visit further strengthened the command’s drive to build trust, deepen legal cooperation, and promote institutional harmony within Kogi State.

In a similar development CP Dantawaye received a delegation from the National Iron Ore Company, Itakpe Led by the Ag. Sole Administrator, Engr. Festus Isinmdun in his Office. The visit aimed at strengthening the relationship between the Police and the Company. The Ag. Sole Administrator assured of sustaining the relationship with the Police which will be beneficial to the Company in terms of security coverage.

The CP assured of the Command’s unwavering commitment to the protection of lives and properties while urging for more synergy in area of information sharing.
