The Societal Concerns Organization has announced the Lagos flagship event of its national advocacy initiative, Campaign Against Killing of Security Personnel (2.0), scheduled for Tuesday, 16 December 2025, at the Army Sports Training Centre, Morocco Road, Somolu, Lagos State.

The event will feature a Press Conference and Inter-Agency Combat Sports Demonstration, bringing together top security leadership, government officials, and frontline agencies in a united stand against the rising attacks on security operatives across Nigeria.

Notable dignitaries expected at the Lagos event include the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), AIG Adegoke Fayoade, Dr. Ayo Ogunsan, Rear Admiral Nnamdi, and Hon. Stephen Ogundipe, alongside other senior officers and stakeholders within Nigeria’s security and governance architecture.

Purpose of the Campaign
The Campaign Against Killing of Security Personnel was initiated to address the growing concern over targeted violence against security operatives nationwide. The campaign seeks to:
• Advocate for the protection, dignity, and welfare of security personnel
• Promote inter-agency unity, discipline, and operational synergy
• Strengthen public trust and cooperation with security institutions
• Mobilise national attention and action toward safeguarding those who protect society

Through strategic engagement, sports diplomacy, and public advocacy, the campaign reinforces the collective responsibility of government, institutions, and citizens in securing lives and property.

Inter-Agency Participation
The combat sports demonstration will feature personnel from the Nigerian Army, Nigerian Navy, Nigerian Air Force, Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), and other sister agencies. The demonstration is designed to promote physical readiness, teamwork, and mutual respect among security institutions.

Abuja Grand Finale
The Lagos event is part of a broader national programme, culminating in the National Security Summit and Security Dialogue scheduled for Friday, 19 December 2025, at the National Merit House, Abuja, by 10:00am. The summit will convene service chiefs, policymakers, security experts, civil society leaders, and youth representatives to deliberate on strengthening Nigeria’s national security framework.

Speaking ahead of the event, Ambassador Oluwayomi Oluwapelumi, President of Societal Concerns Organization and Convener of the Campaign, reiterated the organisation’s commitment to promoting unity and protection for security personnel, noting that the initiative reflects a shared national resolve to end violence against those who serve.
