    It was another successful outing for the members of Celebrity Journal Publishers’ Association of Nigeria (CJPAN), as the body that comprises professionals in celebrity journalism once again moved the train to both Fidelity and Access Banks on a courtesy visit by the Executive to intimate the banks on its forthcoming official launch and other activities line up for 2020.

    On getting to Fidelity Bank, CJPAN members were accorded warm reception by the team of the Corporate Communications department of the bank.
    Speaking after members were ushered in, Mr. Charles Aigbe, Group Head of the Department applauded CJPAN members for the support they have given the bank in years past.

    He urged CJPAN members to be devoted and avoid distraction in the course of doing their jobs especially these days when fake news now spread everywhere like wild fire. He promised total support for the association. In his response, the acting President of the association, Mr. Joshua Uloko thanked the Corporate Communication crew of Fidelity Bank.

    “I want to use this medium to thank Mr. Charles Aigbe, the Group Head, and the two executive members, Mr. Ejike Ndiulo and Mr. Ben Uzor who out of their busy schedules offered us this ample time despite the short notice given. I must be sincere, the open door policy of Mr. Charles Aigbe has remained his edge and this we appreciate. Our coming here today is not to introduce anybody as a member because nearly all of us are known to you but to further strengthen the mutual relationship we have with the bank.” Uloko said.

    Mr. John Thompson, the Financial Secretary of CJPAN also thanked the bank for their support to media outfits and promise that the association will also reciprocate the good gestures.
    The train moved again and stopped at the Head Office of Access Bank where members engaged in protracted interactive session with head honcho of the Corporate Communication Department, Mr. Abdul Imoyo.

    Imoyo urged members to distinguish themselves because of the wannabes that have taken over the media industry.

    “In recent times, we at the Corporate Communications department do meet with different people especially journalists. We know those who are the real journalists and fake ones, but with the emergence if this association and the faces I’m seeing right now I know I’m safe and convinced that I’m not dealing with fake journalists.” Imoyo said.
    Just like his counterpart in Fidelity Bank, Imoyo also pledged his support for the association.

    Abdul expressed satisfaction that with the emergence of CJPAN, peopled by professionals with integrity, which will definitely make his job alot easier, thereby fostering a robust media relationship with core practitioners in information dissemination towards the elimination of the menace of fake news and media quackery; thus separating the wheats from the chaffs.
