National Security Summit 2025: Lagos Assembly Hosts Flag-Off Campaign Against Killing Security Personnel | Blissful Affairs Online

The 2025 edition of the Societal Concerns National Security Summit is set to officially commence in Lagos, with the Lagos State House of Assembly hosting the press conference and ceremonial flag-off of the Campaign Against Killing of Security Personnel on Monday, 1st December 2025.

The event will hold at the prestigious Lateef Jakande Auditorium, Lagos State House of Assembly, Alausa, and will bring together key security stakeholders, members of the press, youth groups, and community leaders from across the state and beyond.

The summit, organized under the leadership of Ambassador Oluwayomi Oluwapelumi, President of Societal Concerns Organization, aims to deepen national conversations around respect for security institutions, strengthening civil harmony, and building a safer future for Nigeria’s security architecture.

A key highlight of the flag-off ceremony is the keynote address to be delivered by the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mudashiru Obasa, titled:
“Institutional Respect, Civil Harmony, and the Future of Security in Nigeria.”

The Speaker is expected to emphasize the importance of restoring public trust in security institutions, improving the welfare and protection of officers, and fostering stronger collaboration between citizens and security agencies.

According to Ambassador Oluwayomi, the campaign—which is now in its second edition—is a national call to action aimed at reversing the rising incidents of attacks on security personnel and promoting a culture of responsibility, appreciation, and partnership in safeguarding the nation.

She noted that the involvement of the Lagos State House of Assembly underscores the state’s commitment to strengthening security and building a society where the lives of those who protect others are respected and valued.

The National Security Summit will feature panel discussions, inter-agency engagement, youth dialogues, and a series of community-focused activities running from 1st to 12th December 2025 across different locations.

Societal Concerns Organization has extended an open invitation to security agencies, traditional institutions, civil society organizations, student leaders, and the media to join in shaping a stronger, safer Nigeria.
