Alhaji Abdulahi Sani Shinkafi, the governorship candidate of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) in Zamfara State has taken on the National Judicial council (NJC) for allowing justice Mohammed Bello Shinkafi of Zamfara State High Court of Justice to be moving freely after what the governorship candidate described as kangaroo judgment over the All Progressives Congress, APC, crisis in the state.
According to Shinkafi, the NJC was trying to shield Justice Shinkafi, who he said is a very corrupt judge practicing in Zamfara State High court of Justice.
He explained that he had written to the chairman of NJC and the Acting Chief Justice of Nigeria since on March 19 that the action of Justice Shinkafi deserves a thorough investigation.
“It was Justice Mohammed Bello Shinkafi who took unresearched investigation that allowed the APC factional candidates to enter the ballot on the eve of the last governorship election,” he lamented.
The governorship candidate noted that the action was a direct abuse to the judicial process that forced him and his party to petition the National Judicial Council to address the embarrassment being caused by justice Mohammed Bello Shinkafi.
“I am calling on the National Judicial Council to note that this is a direct shift from the realities of proper electoral process, which he said cannot be accepted any where in the whole wide world.
Shinkafi explained that the appointment and disciplines of a judicial officer are matters of constitution which he said are spelt out clearly by the provisions of the 1999 constitution of Nigeria as amended.
He noted that his complaint was not on administrative circle as the chief justice and all Nigerians may be thinking but on the ground that the APC in the state did not conduct any primary election in the state and therefore is not supposed by the constitutional provisions of the highest laws of the land.
