The last is yet to be heard of President Muhammadu Buhari’s much-criticized comment on Nigerian youths in London as a former president of Ghana, Jerry Rawlings, has distanced himself from the controversial statement about Nigerian youths’ purported sense of entitlement.
Buhari, while speaking at the Commonwealth Business Forum in London last week, had said most Nigerian youths want everything free without doing anything.
The ex-Ghanaian strong man, who spoke in reaction to some trending tweets accusing him of supporting Buhari’s London allegation about Nigerian youths, disclosed that some persons were trying to use his name to further their political interest.
This was contained in a statement signed by Kobina Andoh Amoakwa of Communications Directorate of the former Ghanaian president, who made it clear that Rawlings had made no comment or issued a statement on Buhari’s much-criticised comment.
The statement added that any comments to that effect that he was in support of Buhari’s comment and purported to have come from him were false.
