G-Win, Nene and Fuchi_Plus emerge top winners as Soundcity OnTour builds momentum towards its 2026 grand finale at the University of Abuja.

A university campus is often a place where young people discover their passions, explore new interests and prepare for the future. At Baze University on November 4, it became something more: a platform for three talented students to showcase their musical abilities, pursue their creative ambitions and share in ₦1 million worth of prizes.

For Emmanuel Best Man Daniel, Festus Nenamote and Debekeme Emmanuel Favour, the BIGI Music Competition, held as part of Soundcity OnTour, was more than a campus entertainment experience. It was an opportunity to step into the spotlight, demonstrate their talent and earn recognition for their musical potential.

Emerging as the overall winner, Emmanuel Best Man Daniel, popularly known as G-Win, went home with ₦500,000. Festus Nenamote, known as Nene, secured the first runner-up position with ₦350,000, while Debekeme Emmanuel Favour, performing as Fuchi_Plus, clinched third place with ₦150,000.

Beyond the prize money, the competition celebrated the creativity, confidence and musical promise of Baze University’s student community, reinforcing the idea that the next generation of music talents can emerge from anywhere, including university lecture halls and campuses where young people are pursuing diverse academic ambitions.

Adding to the excitement of the experience was the appearance of popular Nigerian rapper Odumodu Blvck, whose performance brought an extra dose of star power to the event. His presence created an exciting connection between established music talent and aspiring performers, further energising an audience already immersed in the rhythm and excitement of the campus experience.

For BIGI and Fearless Energy Drink, the competition reflects a broader commitment to creating engaging experiences and opportunities for young Nigerians to express themselves, showcase their abilities and connect through their shared interests. Through Soundcity OnTour, the brands are bringing music, live performances and interactive entertainment directly to tertiary institutions, transforming campuses into vibrant spaces for talent discovery and creative expression.

The 2026 edition has expanded to 20 tertiary institutions, doubling the 10-campus reach of the 2023 outing. At the heart of the tour, the BIGI Music Competition continues to provide an exciting platform for discovering and celebrating emerging musical talent, giving students the opportunity to move beyond being spectators and become active participants in the entertainment experience.

With the Baze University outing delivering three deserving winners, attention now shifts to the final destination of this year’s tour. From November 5 to 7, the University of Abuja will host the 2026 Soundcity OnTour grand finale, bringing together the music, entertainment and youthful energy that have defined this year’s campus journey.

As Soundcity OnTour approaches its final chapter, the success stories emerging from campuses such as Baze University are a reminder of the creative talent waiting to be discovered among young Nigerians. For G-Win, Nene and Fuchi_Plus, the experience has provided a memorable opportunity to take their musical dreams a step further. For the tour, it is another testament to the power of music to inspire, connect and create opportunities for the next generation.
