
CJPAN Visits Onigbongbo LCDA Chairman, Commends Innovation and Developmental Drive | Blissful Affairs Online
Members of the Celebrity Journal Publishers Association of Nigeria (CJPAN), led by its President, Comrade Funmi Olowosegun, have paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Onigbongbo Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo, commending his innovative leadership style and remarkable strides in transforming the council area.
The visit, which took place at the council secretariat, was aimed at acknowledging the chairman’s achievements since assuming office and exploring ways to strengthen collaboration between the local government and the media in promoting developmental initiatives and good governance.

Speaking during the visit, Comrade Olowosegun described Hon. Adebanjo as a vibrant, focused and hardworking leader whose passion for service has begun to yield visible results across critical sectors of the LCDA. She noted that CJPAN was impressed by the pace and impact of development recorded within a short period and pledged the association’s support in showcasing the council’s achievements.
In his response, Hon. Moyosore Adebanjo expressed appreciation to the association for the visit and support, stating that his administration is guided by a clear vision anchored on the F.I.N.E Agenda, which stands for Foster Economic Growth, Invest in the People, Nurture Ideas and Enterprises and Ensure Wellbeing.
He disclosed that within his first 100 days in office, the administration has recorded notable achievements in youth development, education, welfare, infrastructure, environmental management and economic empowerment.
In the area of youth development, the chairman highlighted the hosting of the Moyosore Youth Championship Cup, an NDLEA-supported drug abuse sensitization workshop, the inauguration of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Onigbongbo Executive Council and the recognition and reward of outstanding council staff.
On education, Hon. Adebanjo listed the successful hosting of the 2025 Spelling Bee Competition, the launch of the Back-to-School Initiative, provision of ICT equipment to support voter pre-registration and the distribution of free laptops to students who attained a CGPA of 4.0 and above.
Addressing welfare and social support, he revealed that about 300 elderly residents aged 60 and above have been enrolled in a free health insurance scheme. Other initiatives include job provision for vulnerable households and the “Moyo Pink Walk” breast cancer awareness campaign.
In the health sector, the chairman disclosed plans to revamp primary healthcare delivery by recruiting six additional medical doctors to ensure 24-hour services across the LCDA’s seven health centres, which previously had only one medical doctor.
On infrastructure and environmental sustainability, the administration has resurfaced and rehabilitated key roads including Olorunfunmi Street, Abiola Crescent and Afolabi Awosanya Street, while reactivating the Onigbongbo waste compactor for regular waste evacuation.
Economic empowerment initiatives include the distribution of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) tricycles to residents, trade support grants of ₦50,000 and ₦25,000 to 119 market women and petty traders, hosting of a delegation from Brampton, Canada and the observance of World Tourism Day. He also noted that Onigbongbo LCDA hosts major hospitality brands such as Sheraton, Marriott, Providence and Cubana, making it a key hub in Nigeria’s hospitality sector.
On security, Hon. Adebanjo announced the forthcoming launch of the Onigbongbo Marshal (O’Marshal) Security Initiative a community-based security network designed to complement existing security agencies. He also disclosed that patrol vans have been refurbished to strengthen the LCDA’s security architecture.
A major highlight of the visit was the unveiling of the Eco-Circulate Waste-to-Wealth Programme, developed in collaboration with the Office of the Special Adviser on Climate Change and Circular Economy and recycling platform PAKAM. The initiative allows residents to exchange recyclable waste for cash, food items, airtime, transportation passes, and other incentives, promoting environmental sustainability while boosting grassroots economic empowerment.
Hon. Adebanjo also revealed reforms in revenue generation, including the appointment of a senior tax professional and a Professor of Law from the University of Lagos to align the LCDA’s bylaws with the Federal Government’s ongoing tax reforms and compliance drive.
The CJPAN delegation commended the chairman for his visionary leadership and pledged continued media partnership to amplify the council’s developmental efforts and impact.
