Can you tells your name Sir?

My names are Hon. Olusegun David Odumbaku {DOS} l am the Executive Chairman of Ojodu LCDA.

Sir, you have done a lot of work in Ojodu LCDA including Training, Health, Palliatives to help in this time of hardship. Is there something else you think the Federal Government needs to do because is like the hardship is now a daily thing?

What ever we are doing in Local Government is coming from the federal government, they are doing their best to assist the states and local governments .
The federal government cannot come down to assist rather they can only assist by policies and programmes especially in terms of finance as well to allow us do more.

And in Lagos State the State Governor and Local Government Chairman’s are utilizing whatever they gets from the Federal Government unlike other States, we are really working in Lagos State.

Weeks ago we got over 5000 food items in different packages, 25kg rice, beans, garri and all this was shared properly and we also made sure it gets to tue less privileges.
What we are going through in country is a global issue so we have a lot of work to do though the policies and programmes from the federal government has done a lot.

In some developed countries like Canada there is riots, there is protest in France which l showed people on my phone and it was about hundred times worst to what is going on here, over there they were burning houses, buildings in fact alot is going on.

During the COVID time it didn’t just happened something led to it and it caused a lot in so many county’s like inflation, supply change. So back home we won’t stop doing our best to the windows, orphans, fatherless, motherless, single mothers especially because they are doing the job of two people.

When l mean single mum am talking about the ones the dad is there but not there,we appreciate what the state and federal government are doing.

Sir, what step have you taking concerning the issue of Cholera?

The moment the news came up l took it up immediately in the area of sanitization, in the markets, schools, sanitization of public places and the few cases that we had was being treated. The healths did their work and made sure it was sorted out.

Sir, you have done a lot when it comes to surgery and other treatments how do you get the doctors?

Most hospitals we use is just one off, maybe a day or two days check up. But l said ‘NO’ because after spending so much money at the end of the day we will not reach to people that we want instead let’s put our money where we can achieve what we want.
So, we bring in the doctors to do this work, they come in once in a week, Tuesday for screening and Wednesday for operation.
What we do are minor operations though some people call it major but the doctors said it’s minor { laughs} we do fibroid, hyena, postrate, l thank God for the quality of doctors that we had.

They are professionals in what they do, in some hospitals it will cost so much but they are doing it as a CSR which are appreciating them for taking their time to come around and they are willing to assist all the time.

Sir, what is the way forward?

Governor Babatunde Fashola said “The reward for hard work is hard work” .
We might think there is time but there will s no time because there are more work to do, l can confess to you a lot for me to do.

We want our school to have alternative energy because if we take a generator to schools who will fuel it and before you know it there will be story’s concerning that. The public toilet you will put generator will not work too because it will require constant water.

So, we have to look out for a solution that will give us what we want and getting this facilities will be a great. We are looking forward to make all our schools comfortable with this, the children will go to school and still come back neat and not rough.

How did you come into Politics, Sir ?

I didn’t see myself becoming a politician yes, l didn’t see it coming , l never planned it. I used to tell my friends that how can they be putting me on poster, pestring it around and people will be touching me but now that l am here l will never take it for granted, l see it as being divine. What kept it on is having the privileged to touch lives and the smiles l put on People’s face.

Is not the buildings that move me or big things rather small things that moves me alot.
We lay emphasis on little things.

When people are comfortable and by taking care of the teachers and workers they won’t be thinking of “JAPA” . We do give way for the teachers yearly also for the best teacher.
