UBA ADAMS: NAME THAT RESTORED NIGERIA POLICE IMAGE TO THE WORLD AGAIN

Written by Temidayo Babalola

CSP Uba Adams is a highly trained and committed police senior officer who works diligently to the instruction of his seasons professional police boss, CP Fayoade Adegoke who is a sterling quality that has continually soared his pedigree.

  1. His assumption in office as Officer-in-Charge of the CP Crack Squad, Gbagada Lagos Command in 2024, has significantly given the command a new lease of life as criminal elements have had to turn a new leaf or taken their incorrigible negative lifestyles out of the state for fear of falling into the operatives’ dragnets that are spread across the nooks and crannies of Lagos, under his watch.0

The Prince of Shiroro in Niger State, Adams score sheet as a crime buster par excellence cannot be less described as superfluous.

CSP Uba Adams graduated from Imo State University with B.sc Economics and got enlisted into the police force on August 15, 2002 as a Cadet Inspector, Course 36.

His first posting was to Adamawa Police Command in 2004. In 2005, he was later posted to Imo State Command, and served in the then Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), heading the Anti-Robbery Squad, code-named “Hawk Squad”, where he was till 2008. In 2009, he was mobilized and posted to Squad 32, Abakaliki in Ebonyi State. Because of his experience in operations and administration, he was made the Administrative Officer (AO) of the squad.

He was transferred by an inter squadron to Mopol 48, Ahoada in Rivers State in 2011, where he led a unit of mobile men, controlling four local government council areas, comprising Imooha, Asaritolu, Degema and Abonima.

Adams Uba was one of the mobile men who brought peace and sanity to the local government areas during the heat of militancy.

Similarly, during a communal clash that rocked Omoku, Aggah and Ngbede in Ohaji-Egbema, between 2014 and 2015, he was deployed to the area, where his professionalism was brought to fore, and restored peace to the hitherto desolate communities.

Uba was later transferred to Federal Operations of the Force Headquarters, Abuja where he played a vital role in the cattle rustlers and herdsmen crisis that ravaged Niger State, as Officer-in-Charge of SARS.

Thereafter, he was sent on a Special Course on anti-terrorism and other violent crimes in Enugu, and deployed to Ogun State on July 12, 2016 where he added another feather to the rank of SP.

Due to his gallantry, he was transferred from Ogun State on 5th March, 2019 to Rivers Command as a Squadron Commander of Mopol 48, Ahoada in Rivers State and later Posted to Kano as OC Anti DABA (Anti Cultism) and OC KANO SARS respectively in Kano State Command.

In November 2019, he was transferred to Zone-2 Onikan Lagos to head the Zonal Intervention Squad in Ikorodu Lagos for some months and later moved to head Zonal Monitoring Unit, Zone-2 Lagos.

Under his watch as OC Monitoring Unit Zone-2, he made the arrest of the following amongst others:
-A syndicate of five persons comprising four males and one female who specialises in stealing and transferring funds from people’s account through their SIM Cards.

-Paraded six suspected herdsmen responsible for multiple kidnapping and killing during an attempt to abduct a police inspector on the Ayetoro-Abeokuta Expressway in the Yewa area of Ogun State.

-Arrested three suspected men, conspired and murdered the CEO of Fireman Generator, Late Chief Ignatius Odunukwe.

-The arrest of a notorious Indian hemp dealer, 29 years old Mr Sanni Abiodun at Araromi Street, Offin town, Igbogbo Ikorodu, Lagos.

He is presently serving in Lagos Command. No wonder the state is becoming a-no-go-area for criminals because no matter how small a lion is, no body dares it’s den.

He won several awards from reputable organisations with recommendations.
