TUTOR-GENERAL/PERMANENT SECRETARY EDUCATION DISTRICT III BOWS OUT OF SERVICE

The Tutor-General/Permanent Secretary, Lagos State Education District III, Dr. Olufolayimika Abosede Ayandele on Friday, 18th March, 2022, retired from the State Civil Service after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60 years.

The Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola, in his address at an event held at Marriot Hotel, Ikeja to celebrate the retired Permanent Secretary, described Mrs. Ayandele, as someone whose immense contribution to the progress and development of the State can not be easily rivalled.

His words: “I have immense respect for her because she has done excellently well in all her service years. For instance, she reformed and took Education District III to a greater height. The retiree always used her influence to improve the lives of all public school children she came across.

“As she retires, even though she is evidently not tired, I pray that God grants her good health, long life and all that she desires in this next phase of her life”, he asserted.

On her part, the Honourable Commissioner for Education, Mrs. Folashade Adefisayo, also alluded to the sterling qualities of Dr. Ayandele, saying that her value to the education sector in Lagos State is unquantifiable.

“Her contributions were not only limited to imparting knowledge or to academics but also extended to character building. She had influenced every part of learning. Dr. Ayandele has an inherent ability to turn unpleasant situations around and make a statement out of it”, the Commissioner stated.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Public Service Office, Mr. Samson Ajibade alluded that the retiree served the State meritoriously and ended the journey well without any blemish.

Responding, Dr. Ayandele thanked the Lagos State Government for the opportunity to serve the people of the State in different capacities, especially for the exposure to different professional pieces of training and workshops that further expanded her horizon and improved her resourcefulness.

While saying that her civil service journey was full of ups and downs, Dr. Ayandele said that she was further encouraged by the support from her immediate family and the State Government, particularly with her elevation to the position of a Permanent Secretary which was the peak of her career.

Dr. Ayandele (Nee Ojutiku) is an accomplished Administrator and School Improvement Specialist who holds a Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees in Chemistry as well as Master’s and Doctorate degrees in Educational Administration from the University of Lagos.

She was also certified as an educator in Texas, U. S. A. and is a Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration and Patroness, Chattered Institute of Educational Management and Administration, U. S. A.

Her career offshoot was in the classroom as a teacher, rising through the ranks and serving in various administrative and educational support capacities before her appointment as Permanent Secretary in the Lagos State Public Service in 2015.
