Transfer: Wilfried Zaha names two people who convinced him to join Galatasaray

Wilfried Zaha has revealed the two people who convinced him to leave Crystal Palace for Galatasaray.

Zaha’s move to Galatasaray was confirmed on Monday night, with the Ivorian signing a three-year deal with the Turkish giants.

Following the expiry of his Crystal Palace contract, Zaha had attracted interest from a host of clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, Al-Nassr, Lazio, Napoli and Fenerbahce.

However, Zaha has now revealed that former Crystal Palace teammate Patrick van Aanholt as well as Chelsea legend Didie Drogba convinced him to make the move.

“Obviously this will be my first opportunity to be part of the Champions League, so my mindset is to come here and do my best, try and help the club win titles and get as far as possible,” Zaha told Beanyman Sports.

“My message is when I put on the shirt I always give 100 percent and I look forward to hopefully winning the league this season with all the fans.

“I have asked a few friends, I asked Patrick Van Aanholt who came here, I asked Drogba and he told me it was amazing. I just can’t wait to step in here and see it for myself.”
