As Lagos State continues to witness unprecedented torrential rainfall with its attendant damaging effect on Ifako-Ijaiye roads, the Apostle Oloruntoba Oke-led administration in Ifako-Ijaiye Council Area of Lagos State, has commenced aggressive rehabilitation of failed portions of roads rendered almost impassable to ensure free-flow of traffic across the council area.
Some of such critical roads being rehabilitated by the local government, include: Kayode/MoyoAgoro Street, Oladire, Gospel Crusader,Abanikanda-Haruna street Intersection ,Anthony Ojeikere Streets, where drainage construction, road rehabilitation and streetlight projects are simultaneously being undertaken among others.
Oke, while appealing to residents and motorists to be patient with his administration that more roads would be attended to across the council area when the rains finally subside, said that “current effort is in keeping with the Gov. Sanwo-Olu/ Hamzat developmental agenda for Lagos State”.
Meanwhile, ongoing work on the local government’s permanent secretariat on College Bus Stop, Ifako, is being intensified, just as the contruction company Vas-Sod Construction Ltd, handling the gigantic edifice comprising:100 office accommodation, 2 multi-purpose halls, a penthouse and other state-of-the-art facilities is working round the clock at ensuring timely completion and delivering of the project.
