As part of measures to enhance education among youth, a non governmental organization, Onyekachi Ubani Foundation has said the organization has produced no fewer than three graduates while about four are at the various level of the completion of their university education.

In a recent chat with ABN TV, the Principal partner of the Foundation, Barr. Monday Onyekachi Ubani said the fields of education the Foundation is focused at the moment are Law, Medicine and Accountancy.

The legal practitioner said plans are underway to accommodate other disciplines as time progresses, including secondary schools.

According to him, the focus of Law, Medicine and Accountancy is due to limited resources, saying the funds for the project come from his personal efforts.

Barr. Ubani also revealed that plans are at top gear to launch a relaxation centre in Ikwuano local government, his country home where people can come and relax, watch their favourite football teams play.

While announcing that the Foundation will pay for a full year subscription of the viewing centre, he announced that there will be a standby generator to energize the centre.

He also announced that there are other empowerment schemes aimed to get the youths of Ikwuano engaged and enhance their standards of living

On other activities the Foundation has embarked on, he said, “We got to know about a lady that has displayed high level of honesty. As a Nigerian, she picked twelve million naira that belong to somebody who came to the airport and left that money and the lady returned the money to the owner and to me that was one of the greatest act of honesty and integrity displayed.

“So what I did was to bring the lady to a radio station and several television stations trying to market her, it got to a stage when Enugu state government where she came from named a street after her and offered her employment.

“The federal government also offered her employment and she took the offer of the federal government, and there were other gifts. The Sun newspaper honored her because of her integrity. We wanted to market her as the new face of integrity that Nigerians are not dishonest people, that we cannot because of few acts of some individuals in the country be termed as criminals. We are honest and hardworking people and that lady was the face of what I marketed.

“She eventually found a husband, I was at the ceremony, and she got married two years ago. Many things we have done individually, then recently in my village, my foundation donated a bus to the youth of my village. I am from Awomukwu , in Ikuano local government area of Abia state. We are going to do new things for the youth.

“Before the end of this December,we should be able to open a relaxation centre for the youth so that when they finish working in the evening, they can.” he said.
