TEACHERS ARE BUILDERS FOR NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT – IDIMOGU

A former member of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon Sir (Dr) Jude Chukwuemeka Idimogu, said Teachers are nation builders, teachers are the centre of education and their contributions can never be overestimated. October 5 of every year as teachers’ day all over the world, is a unique day to celebrate a set of people that have invested their time, resources and skills into moulding and shaping lives all over the globe. Teaching is hard work and it is poignant if it is further made tougher when teachers are ‘forced’ to work in environment that are not conducive to learning.

Idimogu, who made this statement through his SA on Media and Publicity, Mr Henry Uzodinma, as the world marks Teachers’ Day, urged teachers to see themselves as parents, advisers and counsellors to students to mold responsible adults.

“October 5th every year is a day set aside by the World to celebrate great roles played by teachers in providing quality education at the local and international levels”

He further commended them for their unbridled commitment and avowed patriotism and urged them to continue to maintain high ethics of professionalism.

Idimogu remarked that teachers in the Country have always exhibited
high level of selflessness and professionalism in the discharge of their primary assignment and in the way they handle students and pupils entrusted into their cares.

“As the performances of students and Pupils from Nursery to Tertiary schools could only be seen as the outcome of the hardwork of the teachers in the Country and as they care for the students, God would also care for them and their families” Idimogu added.
