Sen. Abba Moro, Sir John Ngbede Pays Last Tributes To Profs. Adejo, Omenka

The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Comrade Abba Patrick Moro and PDP gubernatorial deputy Governorship candidate of Benue State Sir John Ngbede on Friday, joined families and other sympathizers to attend the burial ceremonies of Professors Armstrong Matiu Adejo and Frank Iba Omenka.

While Adejo, a Professor of history at Benue State University and a school mate of Senator Moro at Emmanuel Secondary School, Ugbokolo, was buried in his country home, Auke, in Apa Local Government Area, Prof. Omenka, a former Commissioner and Lecturer at the Federal University, Wukari, Taraba State, was buried in Ainu, Oju LGA.

Senator Moro, in his remark at the funerals in Auke and Ainu, described the deaths of the renowned Professors as huge losses to Benue South and the entire Benue State.

His words;

“There’s no gainsaying the fact that the deaths of Profs. Armstrong Adejor and Omenka have put their families, friends, Benue South and the entire Benue State in a deep mourning, in view of the quality of their contributions to our society.

“While we know that death is inevitable, it’s very sad that Professors Adejo and Omenka’s sunset came so soon.

“They will be greatly missed by their families, friends, colleagues, associates and the entire Benue State for their impacts, cutting across many sectors of the society, while they were alive.

“There’s no word to adequately describe the depth of the losses. We are hopeful that the families they left behind will carry on with their legacies, to immortalize them.

“As we mourn their untimely deaths, we must be consoled by the good and impactful lives they lived on earth, and the fact that they have gone to rest with the Lord in heaven.

“May God Almighty grant all of us the fortitude to bear these irreplaceable losses and rest the souls of the departed.

“Once again, on behalf of my family and the good people of Benue South Senatorial District, kindly accept my condolences.”
