It is true that the Zamfara State Government doled out vehicles to bandits.
It did surely happened but during the so called “ADDININ MU AL’UMMAR MU” administration.
It was on record that during Yari Administration the Zamfara state government appointed a bandit as S A and doled out 100 motorcycles to other bandits knowing fully that these notorious bloodthirsty syndicate uses motorcycles as a means of transport in raiding towns and villages.
It was also on record that Toyota Hilux pickups were given to the bandit S A and another gang leader known as Kundu at that time.
At the same time, the bandits representatives in government was the state publicity secretary of the then ruling party (APC) in the state, who eventually raised to the position of state zonal vice chairman and remained on that position until their recent dissolution by Mai Mala Buni led national caretaker committee.
So yes, it was on record that Zamfara State Government doled out vehicles to bandits but it was Yari’s not Matawalle’s!
