… To Begin Running Virtual Courses in June

Amidst the Coronavirus pandemic which has globally impacted every aspect of life, the Lagos State Public Service Staff Development Centre (PSSDC), Magodo, is set to conclude the Y2020 Structured Training Programmes (STP) for eligible Public Servants in the State by resuming scheduled courses suspended in the wake of the COVID-19 lockdown, from June 1, 2020.

The Director-General of the Centre, Dr. Senukon Olufunmi Ajose-Harrison made the disclosure on Wednesday, saying it is in line with the Head of Service circular which directed that outstanding STPs for the Y2020 promotion exercise be concluded for all eligible officers using online technology.

Ajose-Harrison added that all the outstanding Structured Training Programme (STP) sessions would be concluded via webinars in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders.

He further stated that the Centre had concluded plans to resume the implementation of its scheduled courses suspended in the wake of COVID-19 lockdown, recalling that “as a result of lockdown, regular and physical contact courses were suspended”.

“In line with global best practices and in strict compliance with the State Government’s social distance rule, PSSDC has repositioned itself to continually engage its participants and other stakeholders through the placement of learning slides on its website www.pssdc.com.ng/res-evolve. The Centre will also continue its Learning and Development Programmes adopting virtual technology”, the Director-General said.

While noting that the Coronavirus outbreak has altered the way things are done globally, Ajose-Harrison stated that PSSDC has risen to the challenge, adapted to the “new world order” and is poised to work towards improving its capacity building processes while developing a variety of online platforms to reach a larger number of its stakeholders.

He reiterated the continued commitment of PSSDC to the capacity building goals of the State Public Service and beyond, saying 14 regular courses would be completed using online platforms in the next three weeks.
