PARASTATALS MONITORING OFFICE BEGINS WORKING TOUR OF STATE AGENCIES

In a bid to fulfill its core mandate of ensuring that agencies of the State government are managed and run in tandem with administrative guidelines, the Lagos State Parastatals Monitoring Office (PMO) has commenced a working visit to various parastatals and agencies.

Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo, Special Adviser to the Governor, Parastatals Monitoring Office, speaking at the State Women Development Centre (WDC), Agege, noted that the aim of the tour scheduled to end on 26th January, 2022, is to have an in-depth understanding of the modus operandi of various agencies such as their achievements, as well as deliberate on the challenges which hinder effective and efficient service delivery to Lagosians.

His words: “Paratstals are the servicing ends of the Government, which can be likened to foot soldiers in a military formation. Therefore, the Parastatals Monitoring Office offers support and monitors the Agencies to ensure they fulfil their core mandates, which are geared towards the actualisation of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s T.H.E.M.E.S. Agenda”.

Ayantayo commended that leadership of the Centre, the first port of call during the tour, saying “I am highly impressed with the positive effects that agencies, such as the WDC, are creating amongst Lagosians as evident in the feedback from beneficiaries of their services. The magnitude of impact is such that it transcends individuals and has a ripple effect within society and nation as a whole”.

In the same vein, the Permanent Secretary of PMO, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Oke-Osayintolu, applauded Ms. Deola Adepoju, the Director of Women Development Centre, and others at the helms in the various parastatals for their diligence and dedication.

Mrs. Oke-Osanyintolu said, “I particularly commend you and others on the various innovations you have introduced in your agencies, especially the digitalisation of your activities, so that more Lagosians can access your services which have assisted your agencies in meeting set targets despite various challenges”.

She urged the officers to continue carrying out their duties conscientiously, reiterating the commitment of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to providing every necessary support to aid the agencies in achieving their set goals and objectives to enhance the progress and development of the State.

The Special Adviser, Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo and Permanent Secretary, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Oke-Osayintolu, alongside other Management staff of the Parastatals Monitoring Office, also visited Lagos State Scholarship Board (LSSB) and Lagos State Examinations Board (LSEB) on Tuesday.
