LASVO SET TO COMMENCE UPDATE, VERIFICATION, TAGGING OF GOVERNMENT ASSETS WITHIN ALAUSA SECRETARIAT

The Lagos State Valuation Office (LASVO) is set to commence the update, verification and tagging of all new assets acquired by Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) within the Secretariat Complex, Alausa, using barcode enabled labels.

The Director of LASVO, Esv. Adekunle Awolaja, disclosed that the exercise, scheduled to commence from Monday, 14th June, 2021 until Thursday, 15th July 2021, is geared towards updating government property, keeping records, as well as for the creation and management of the Fixed Assets Register.

He explained that the exercise was designed to enable the State keep records of all government assets and ensure easy identification and location, adding that the scheduled dates would be strictly observed in compliance with the circular issued by the Head of Service Office, Mr. Hakeem Muri-Okunola.

While noting that the exercise will help to safeguard the assets of the State, Awolaja solicited the support of all staff towards the successful completion of the exercise.

Recall that the Lagos State Valuation Office (LASVO) had, in December 2020, embarked on the first phase of the verification of the State Government’s fixed assets across the metropolis in line with international best practices.
