LASRRA SETS UP REGISTRATION POINT AT FALOMO JETTY, IKOYI
The Lagos State Residents Registration Agency (LASRRA) has set up a registration point at the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) Jetty in Falomo, Ikoyi, Lagos to bring registration closer to residents who commute via the waterways.
Speaking on the initiative, the General Manager of LASRRA, Engr. Ibilola Kasunmu, represented by the Head, Registration Department of LASRRA, Mr. Ajibola Jamiu Abari, said that the intention of the government is to make life easier for residents and present them the opportunity to have a seamless registration experience with an array of value-added services at the Falomo centre.
While noting that the enrolment centre commenced full operations on Thursday, Kasunmu informed all residents that the required registration with LASRRA is part of their civic responsibility as citizens because it will facilitate allocation of government resources once they are enrolled on the database of the State.
The General Manager enjoined Lagosians to visit: www.lagosresidents.gov.ng to pre-register on the registration portal with their mobile phones or other devices to hasten the process, saying the process could be undertaken while passengers wait for boats to them to their various destinations. Subsequently, individuals could undertake biometric enrollment at the LASWA Registration point in Falomo.
According to her, LASRRA is the Agency of government saddled with the responsibility for the creation of a reliable database of all residents in Lagos to assist the government in deploying resources for the overall development and growth of the State.
“The Agency’s strategic plan is to provide a unique means of identification for access to State services and facilities, including the provision of a centralised database to all MDAs for planning purposes”, Kasunmu noted.
