LASEPA BOSS CELEBRATES BIRTHDAY WITH TREE PLANTING EXERCISE

The General Manager of the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), Dr. Dolapo Fasawe has commemorated her birthday with a tree planting exercise in support of the global action on climate change towards gradual restoration and recovery of the mother earth.

The event which was part of the programme designed by the management and the entire staff of the agency to celebrate her birthday, as well as a form of support for her leadership role which has elevated the status of the agency, while also improving the reputation of the State government in the public domain.

Fasawe, who was overwhelmed by the magnitude of the surprise birthday celebration by the staff, colleagues and friends, thanked everyone for contributing to the event, expressing her appreciation for the overwhelming demonstration of love and support by the LASEPA family.

She said, “Birthdays are more enjoyable when surrounded by devoted friends and families. This surprise gathering humbled me and I would hold on to the memory forever. Before, I have collaborated with friends in the past to organise surprise birthdays for loved ones, but this is real, l didn’t see it coming”.

“I also intend to mark the day with a tree planting exercise in view of the need to make peace with nature and improve quality of life as well as the fulfilment of other essential needs of mankind. However, I must also use this opportunity to seek more cooperation, dedication and commitment towards the effective delivery of our core mandate from all members of staff”, Fasawe said.

Earlier, in her welcome address, the Director, Human Resources and Administration, Mrs. Olufunke Adenle, disclosed that the party was organised by the entire staff with the support of her friends without her knowledge.

She congratulated the General Manager on her birthday, adding that her sterling leadership qualities have endeared her to a lot of people and entrenched harmonious working relationships as well as mùtual respect amongst all staff.

“The turnout, despite the short notice, underscores her enchanting personality, impressive character and good testimony of her upright relationship with the staff, colleagues, friends and families”, Adenle asserted.

Other speakers also took turns to shower accolades on her in confirmation of her kind-hearted nature. One of them was her son, Deji Fasawe, who described her as the best mother anybody could wish for, saying “My mum is our best friend, my brother and I hold her in high esteem as she represents everything we live for. My mum is the epitome of discipline, humility, simplicity, diligence and mother to many children. My brother, Kayode, and I pray for more years and internal peace for the rest of her life”.

The party had in attendance top government functionaries including the Permanent Secretaries, Ministry of Information and Strategy, Mr. Olusina Thorpe; Office of the Environmental Services, Mrs. Belinda Odeneye; Ministry of Physical Planning and Urban Development, Engr. Biola Kosegbe and the Director-General of LASEMA, Dr. Femi Osanyintolu among others.
