LASCON PROVOST BAGS NURSING ASSOCIATION MERIT AWARD
The Provost, Lagos State College of Nursing (LASCON), Igando, Mrs. Oyefunso Orenuga, has received a Merit Award from the Lagos State Schools of Nursing Global Alumni Association (LASSONGAA).
Mrs. Orenuga was presented with the award by the representative of the First Lady of Lagos State and wife of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Parastatals Monitoring Office, Mrs. Aminah Ayantayo at LASSONGAA First Reunion and Award Ceremony held at the Adeyemi-Bero Hall, Alausa, Ikeja.
In her remarks, the Awardee expressed delight and thanked the Association for honouring her, particularly at a time when she is the pioneer and incumbent Provost of the Lagos State College of Nursing, Igando – an offshoot of the School of Nursing at Awolowo Road, Ikoyi.
Her words: “I am delighted to be part of this history-making gathering, which has brought together all old students of the School of Nursing at Awolowo Road and the various sets of alumni groups under one umbrella. I am happy this is happening during my time as the pioneer Provost of the Lagos State College of Nursing, Igando”.
Appreciating the support of Lagos State School of Nursing, North America Alumni to the College through scholarship awards to some third-year students after emerging winners in essay writing competitions, Mrs. Orenuga acknowledged that the alumni body has continued to provide assistance on an annual basis.
She also eulogised Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and the Special Adviser on Education, Mr. Tokunbo Wahab, for the laudable achievements of the College since its relocation from Awolowo Road to Igando, saying: “We would not have achieved the successes recorded so far by LASCON without the immense support of Governor Sanwo-Olu and his Special Adviser on Education Mr. Tokunbo Wahab”.
