Lagos CP goes after kidnappers at Oloja, Alagemo, Igbiafa, Ijede creeks in overnight surveillance

  • Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fayoade Adegoke, mni, has read riot act to all criminals in the state, he said it would be better for them to leave before they are caught.

CP Adegoke, who in a patrol vigil and unscheduled working visit to Divisions and Area Commands in the state for on-the-spot duty assessment, stated that it would not be business as usual for kidnappers, robbers and cultists in the state.

The thoroughbred super cop, in a midnight till dawn patrol tour from 12:45am to 6.30am, touched down in Area H Command en route Ogudu Division to Alapere Divisional headquarters, where he met with the Divisional Police Officers (DPOs) and other officers on duty during the unannounced night visitation, put the men on red alert about the zero tolerance for criminals in the state.

CP Adegoke, who also visited Owode Onirin Division and all other divisions within Ikorodu axis down to Ijede, identified some dark spots where criminal activities could easily thrive.

In a rare show of bravado the police officer stormed some flashpoints where kidnappers use as escape road in Ijede, Oloja, Alagemo, Igbiafa creeks and other hideouts for criminals in the area.

CP Adegoke was led by head of vigilante group, JTF, Mr. Adetela to the notorious abodes of robbers and kidnappers the areas.

With this uncommon show of security consciousness by this singular act of night patrol, CP Adegoke has in no small measure stamped the fact that the police are not sleeping over security matters, as it also strengthens the confidence in the police to ensure security of lives and properties in Lagos.

Doubtlessly, CP Adegoke is in the state to alter the security narratives especially at the grassroots for overall good of all residents.

By the precarious security situation in the country at the moment, a very worrisome concern to no a few citizens, Lagos can not ask for a better cop to man the command than Adogoke.

Many innocent men, women, students and kids were taken at gunpoints with the kidnappers demanding for ransoms that run in billions. Lagos State, a city-state and the undisputable commercial centre of the country can not afford to stay behind the clock in combating crimes to the knees.

Lagos, arguably the fifth largest economy in Africa, deserves a well-trained, intelligent and well-traveled police officer to handle the security front of the state. And the Police Service Commission and the Nigeria Police Force need be applauded for deploying yet another worthy cop to man the state.

Proficient leadership goes way deep in a formidable security team, and that is why
Adegoke, an easy going Police officer with a very impeccable dossier, could be smartest move in Lagos State Police Command. Deployed to the state in December 2023 and ever since coming on board has never relented in ensuring the protection of the people. He also works in way that enhance the pro-people policies of His Excellency, Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. The governor, who understands the enormous security task on ground, has donated 300 operational vehicles to the command and empowered other security agencies in the state.

It is believed that the governor doled out this much due to his confidence and trust in CP Adegoke. While presenting the vehicles Sanwo-Olu said, “Today, we pledge to pursue policies fostering the well-being of all Lagosians and building a secure and inclusive community.

“To address critical needs, the state government, in collaboration with the local governments, needs to indeed look for a clear strategy to refit all the ageing vehicles that we have in the Lagos State Police Command, the RRS, and all other support agencies.

“So, I will ensure that between us and the local governments, in the course of early next year, we will donate 300 brand new vehicles to the Lagos State Security Trust Fund.”

With his deployment to the Lagos State Police Command by the Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetokun, CP Adegoke Fayode has proven so far that he is ready to protect the lives and properties of Lagosians.
