Many of the victims had been rendered homeless and had appealed to the state government to come to their aid.

The President-General Okpe Isoko community, Mr. Alor Okpelogbo, who spoke to media said, “The rainstorm destroyed our school buildings, churches, and over 200 houses. We appeal to the state government to come to our aid”.

We observes that electricity poles and cables including shops were also destroyed by the heavy storm which lasted for several hours.

But Majority Leader of the state House of Assembly, Mr. Tim Owhefere told media that “The rainfall was indeed hurricane-like, indigenes have been divested in the unexpected natural disaster, many houses were destroyed” urging the victims to be calm as government would not abandon them.
