GTCO Fashion Wekkend, path to fulfilling dreams


It was a celebration of creativity, innovations and elegance as fashionistas and fashion entrepreneurs massively stormed the GTCo Fashion weekend held in Lagos. The event sent fashionable shivers down the spine of guests and beautiful models serenaded the runway, parading and displaying different creative styles of elegance, allure and glam. Now in its sixth edition, the GTCo Fashion Weekend has consistently redefined the fashion landscape, bringing together designers, fashion enthusiasts, industry professionals, and trendsetters both locally and internationally.


The GTCo Fashion Weekend has served as an avenue for GTCo to discover, encourage and nurture the dreams of African designers whose talents hitherto seems hidden. Through the GTCo Fashion Weekend, these designers are shot into global limelight and given an avenue to connect and work with the best of designers all over the world. Known for its legendary talents hunting strategies, GTCo has over the years, activated several avenues of empowering creativity and innovations in the Nigerian and African fashion space and the Fashion Weekend is part of this noble cause.


This year’s GTCo Fashion Weekend is sequential, broken down in master class categories viz, The Second Master class with Sergio Hudson tagged “Unveiling the Path to Fulfilling Dreams” was very impactful during the master class, he said the Fashion business is a structure around designer, if you did not have a designer, you will not have fashion magazine, you will not have any style to show, therefore you need to love and have passion for fashion business in order to work things out. The first master class of the event had Julee Wilson, a fashion enthusiast, fashion lover and writer in attendance as the speaker who schooled the attendee. The GTCo Fashion Weekend, now in its sixth edition, has consistently redefined the fashion landscape, bringing together designers, fashion enthusiasts, industry professionals, and trendsetters both locally and internationally.
The second master class of the event had fashion lovers in attendance as the speaker Sergio Hudson, fashion lovers and fashion designer, unveil the dream behind fashion.

The two days GTCo Fashion weekend will be entertainment and fashion at its peak. Over the years, the event has firmly established its place as an incubator for diverse talent, creativity, and enterprise in fashion retail, bringing together some of Africa’s prominent fashion brands alongside relatively newer labels to interact with universally celebrated fashion icons and engaging style personalities.

In keeping with tradition, this year’s event will feature insightful masterclasses and thrilling runaway shows together with free stalls for over 140 fashion retailers. Colourful façades, lively music, and a delightful ambience are popular elements of GTCo fairs and work together to create a multisensory, thoroughly fulfilling experience for all attendees.
Speaking on the 2023 GTCo Fashion Weekend, the Group Chief Executive Officer of Guaranty Trust Holding Company Plc, Segun Agbaje, said; “Fashion is not just about making items of clothing or style accessories, it is about exploring feelings and channelling creative expressions to create experiences that resonate with various buyers, across different markets.
